A Smooth Start to 2026 + Vision Board Events Around the City

We’re already a week into 2026, and honestly, I’m feeling really good about this year. I’ve always liked the idea of New Year’s resolutions, not so much as rigid rules, but as something to work toward or look forward to as the year unfolds. They give the year a sense of direction, even if the path isn’t perfectly straight.

I actually remember creating a vision board for the first time as an 8th grader. Years later, I realized that I had put Syracuse University on that board, not even knowing at the time that I would actually end up going there for college! Moments like that really make me believe in the power of visualizing your goals, even when they feel far off or uncertain. Last year, my friends and I had a vision board party where we created boards and talked about what we wanted to accomplish in 2025. At the end of the year, it was so cool to look back and realize that there were things on my board I had completely forgotten about but somehow still managed to complete!

I truly think there’s something powerful about writing out your goals or putting them up on a board where you can see them. That said, there are so many ways to document your intentions. I’ve seen people record videos to their December selves, which I think is such a cool idea. This year, my friends and I decided to create digital vision boards to share with each other, here’s mine:

My goals for this year aren’t totally different, they’re more of a continuation and a building upon last year’s intentions. A lot of them are centered around health and wellness and financial literacy. One of my biggest resolutions is being more intentional about regular health checkups with my doctors, dentist, and therapist, and also taking better care of myself in ways that sometimes get overlooked, like skin and hair health. I’m also focused on saving more, hopefully for a Disney trip✨ and other future plans! I’m also setting goals around growing this blog like becoming more organized, planning ahead and just being an all-around boss!

Okay, enough about me though, if you’re looking to create your own vision boards and connect with others, find some accountability partners, or just take some time to reflect and document your own New Year goals and resolutions, here are a few events coming up that might be a great place to start:
