Catching Up: Where I’ve Been and What I’ve Been Up To

The last few weeks have been a lot. Life has felt nonstop, and somewhere in the middle of all the running around (literally and figuratively), I had to take a moment to pause and reset. I’ve just been living in the moment as opposed to constantly collecting data for the blog! So, even though I’ve been blogging a little less lately, I promise, I’ve still been out and about, attending events, connecting with community, and collecting moments worth sharing.

(8/2 RUN x BIKE x BRUNCH)

Saturday mornings have become a bit of a coin toss between run club or heading to the park with the kids. I love both, but let’s be honest, pushing a stroller while trying to keep a steady pace is a full-body workout and I know my limits. That said, I powered through a couple Saturdays ago and brought my daughter along to the Meier’s Creek meetup run. It was such a fun morning! She’s really starting to take interest in her own workouts and mine. Let me tell you, there’s nothing more motivating than a tiny toddler sitting cross-legged in her stroller, looking you dead in the eye and yelling, “Run faster!”

After the run, I headed downtown to check out Cuse Culture’s Reunion Fest. I grabbed a lovely perfume from Cocoa’s Candles and sat in on a live podcast episode. What I appreciated most was how intentionally curated the event felt, every detail was clearly designed to make sure vendors and guests felt seen, supported, and connected.

Speaking of podcasts, I was honored to be a guest on George Kilpatrick’s latest episode of Inspiration for the Nation! We had a great conversation about myself, this blog, and all the exciting events happening in and around Syracuse. Definitely tune in if you haven't already, it was such a meaningful experience.

This past weekend, I made it over to the 2025 Queen Street Expo at Sankofa Park, an event organized by Fearless Queens Network and Syracuse’s youth. It was full of fresh talent, live music, and a lineup of vendors I hadn’t seen before. The energy was youthful, creative, and full of purpose, I loved it!

The family and I wrapped up our Saturday at the annual QueFry, hosted by the Chi Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. here in Syracuse. Families and members of the D9 came out to support, connect, and enjoy some seriously good food. And of course, my baby boy had to show out for his daddy in his crimson and cream “It’s in my DNA” tee. Literally the cutest little guy I’ve ever seen!

Finally, after a packed weekend, I slowed it all down on Sunday with a peaceful Pilates session followed by a cozy pasta dinner with close friends, the perfect way to end an incredibly busy couple of weeks.

For me, food, fellowship, and family time will always be my favorite way to spend my time. Here’s to more moments that ground us, more events that inspire us, and more reasons to keep showing up even when life feels a little crazy.
