Whew — It has been a week y’all! Between sweat sessions, soulful stretches, and good vibes with good people, I’m feeling recharged and ready to get into the weekend. But first, let’s recap:
It all kicked off with a little happy hour and yap session at XO Taco. My girl, Yolee, and I shared refreshing conversation over their half-off margaritas and a very large portion of loaded fries. It’s always nice to let go of any negative energy or lingering stress before heading into a busy weekend.
Saturday started off with a solid 3-mile run with the Syracuse Run Club. I really enjoy bringing the kids outdoors and getting active. Normally, we would have spent the morning at the playground, but I wanted to switch it up. Plus, my daughter thoroughly enjoys her post-run (aka getting pushed in a wagon) stretches.

Later in the day, I switched gears (and shoes) for Tek Time and Whine, a dance workshop led by Yolee. Let me tell you — she brought it. The vibes were high, music immaculate, and the choreography had us sweating and feeling sexy all at the same time. About 20 women showed up to the Community Folk Art Center to take her class and I think we unintentionally formed a sisterhood by the end of it.
Fast forward to Monday, I slowed things down and treated myself to a restorative yoga class with Thrive in Healing. Honestly? It was exactly what I needed. The smooth R&B soundtrack paired with gentle movement helped reset my body and mind. I went into the class with a serious case of the Monday blues and left feeling lighter, centered, and way more grounded. It was the perfect mental reset for the week ahead.

Now here we are, rolling into the weekend, and I’m so looking forward to it!
We’re starting off strong on Friday night with "After the Ringtone", a Y2K Hip-Hop and R&B party at The Song and Dance, with 40thedj and Bianca setting the tone (no pun intended). If you see me on the dance floor, no you didn’t.
Then Saturday during golden hour, I’ll be flowing once again at the Rooftop Yoga and Social because few things beat yoga under the setting sun with city views all around. Also, the Bar-B-Cuse fest is calling my name!
I hope your week has been good to you, and if not, you still have a chance to turn it around! See you soon!
